Cupcake Flower Craft – A Valentine’s Day Gift

This cupcake flower craft was inspired by my three year old niece.

She wanted to bake cupcakes and be independent in the whole process. I was like, I don’t think so, I told her we are going to make cupcake’s for mom for Valentine’s Day. So, as I was making real cupcake’s, she was making cupcake flowers. To all my future baker’s enjoy your cupcakes. Don’t forget to share your cupcake flower craft on our Facebook page as well.

Any color foam paper

Green pipe cleaners for stems

Any color for leave’s

Colorful baking cups (I used 3 different colors)

Color Pompons to put inside the cups

Marker or Glitter

Have your child poked a hole with pipe cleaner at the bottom of the foam paper and make a round circle on the pipe cleaner. Have your child make the leaves with their pipe cleaner colors. Make leaves by folding half of the pipe cleaner and secure with the other half and wind it up on the green pipe cleaner.

Have your child glue the top of their stems to their page (we used 3 stems), then glue a baking cup on the top of each of the stems. You can also glue a smaller baking cup in the middle of the flower for more of a 3-dimensional look. Add a color pompon in the middle.

Have your child write Happy Valetine’s Day or Happy Mother’s Day with a marker or glue and sprinkle glitter. We used a marker.

Awh this is such a super sweet craft. I’d love for my little one to make me something like this, he’s a little too young yet but I really can’t wait for the day I get his folder home from playschool and see all his arts and crafts. Such a lovely handmade card idea for Mother’s Day :)

This is such a cute idea. I need to do way more crafts with the boys. I am not crafty by nature though, which proves to be a problem. However, this seems simple enough for me to do without messing it up.

And its easy and quick enough for my kids to make without complaining :) The 7 year old is starting to get out of the craft phase, but my younger one is still going strong! SUPER cute!
